For a motor to spin and provide drive to a power tool, a magnetic field must be created. Conventional electric motors use carbon brushes to change the polarity of this magnetic field through mechanical contact, allowing the motor to continue spinning. Brushless motors eliminate this frictional contact and provide more precise control using a computer. This means a cooler running motor, high efficiency and a longer lifespan of the product.
Drill hole to hole, mow lawn to lawn: batteries also benefit from the high efficiency of the motor. All PXC tool and garden equipment utilising brushless motors have a particularly high level of efficiency allowing for more power or longer battery run time.
